I have fairly specific feelings about ordinary things.
Hotel breakfasts. Restaurant menus. The equipment we buy for hobbies we haven’t actually tried. The quiet satisfaction of being somewhere that knows your order.
Minor Preoccupations is where I give those things more attention than they probably need.
I’m Trevor Johnson. I write essays about everyday life, personal taste, and the things we get carried away with. Sometimes that means making a case for something I love. Sometimes it means examining a preference I’ve held for years and discovering I have very little evidence to support it.
Expect humor, occasional affection, and some opinions whose importance I may have overestimated.
